Qualifications:
Completed a minimum of a high school diploma; Associate degree preferred with continued employment conditional on successful completion of the Paraeducator Generalist I Certificate
Pass the required security check conducted as per Human Resources hiring practice
Must have transportation and valid driver’s license
Communication skills adequate for the task assigned
Ability to relate to student population being served
Job Responsibilities:
Assist the SLP with screenings and during assessments of students without interpretation
Assist with data collection and documentation as directed by the SLP and/or Autism Team Leader
Follow documented treatment plans developed by the supervising SLP and/or Autism Team Leader
Plan activities that lead to student success on goals
Assist in providing active positive engagement for children birth to 3 and early childhood age (3-5 yr olds) with Autism Spectrum Disorders
Assist with clerical duties such as preparing materials and scheduling activities as directed by SLP and/or Autism Team Leader
Assist with departmental operations (scheduling, record keeping, safety/maintenance of supplies and equipment)
Collect data for monitoring quality improvement
Exhibit compliance with regulations, reimbursement requirements, and Communication Paraprofessional’s job responsibilities
Additional duties as assigned
Participate in professional development activities
Maintain confidentiality with regard to student record and information
