QUALIFICATION
EDUCATION:
High School Diploma or equivalent
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Assist Special Education teacher in implementing the educational program for students in a juvenile home classroom
Work cooperatively with AEA staff and parents for the benefit of the student
Establish and maintain positive relationships with students
Act in the best interest of the student in handling situations that arise
Assist Special Education teacher by reporting student progress and problems
Perform work processing and clerical duties as assigned
Attend staff meetings as needed
Seek information and learning opportunities related to job

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to travel between schools and sites served
Normal, routine levels of activity related to bending, carrying, climbing, hearing, lifting, reaching, sitting, standing, vision and walking, and may also involve above-average levels of activity at times that can’t always be anticipated
